Brake Caliper Repair & Replacement

A sticking or seized caliper can cause uneven braking, rapid pad wear, and dangerous vehicle pulling. We diagnose and fix caliper issues right at your location.

What Does a Brake Caliper Do?

The caliper is the hydraulic clamp that squeezes the brake pads against the rotor when you press the pedal. A malfunctioning caliper can stick in the applied position (causing constant drag and heat) or fail to apply fully (causing brake pull and longer stopping distances).

Signs of Caliper Problems

  • Vehicle pulls to one side when braking
  • Uneven pad wear (one side much thinner than the other)
  • Brake pedal feels spongy or sinks to the floor
  • Dragging sensation or burning smell after driving
  • Visible brake fluid leak around caliper area

Repair vs. Replacement

In some cases, a sticking caliper can be freed, cleaned, and rebuilt. In others (particularly when the caliper is leaking, severely corroded, or internally damaged), replacement is the safer option. We'll diagnose the issue and recommend the right approach.

Time & Pricing

Caliper replacement typically takes 1.5–2 hours per axle. Pricing varies depending on your vehicle make and model. Call 703-977-4475 for a fast estimate.
