Drum Brake & Shoe Replacement

Many vehicles still use drum brakes on the rear axle. When shoes wear thin, springs weaken, or wheel cylinders leak, rear braking performance drops, and we fix it at your location.

How Drum Brakes Work

Unlike disc brakes, drum brakes use curved shoes that press outward against the inside of a drum. When you press the brake pedal, hydraulic pressure from the wheel cylinder forces the shoes against the drum surface, slowing the vehicle.

Signs of Drum Brake Problems

  • Squealing, grinding, or scraping noise from the rear
  • Pulling to one side when braking
  • Soft, spongy, or low brake pedal
  • Reduced braking effectiveness
  • Parking brake feels loose or ineffective

What We Replace

  • Brake shoes
  • Wheel cylinders
  • Return springs and hardware
  • Brake drums (when worn beyond spec)
  • Parking brake cables and adjusters
